Purchased for $50,000 over a cool million by Zedan Racing at this year's Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May sale and named for that auction house's chief cook and bottlewasher Boyd Browning, Boyd (Violence) was sent to Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert.

The juvenile debuted a winner at the seaside oval by a margin of 5 3/4 lengths, which earned him a 'TDN Rising Star, presented by Hagyard', for his effort. Shipped to Louisville for the Ed Brown Stakes, Boyd was bet down to 3-5 here.

The Zedan color bearer bobbled a touch at the start and that allowed Gallivant (Into Mischief) to take the lead up the backstretch. Poised to strike at the pacesetter, the hooded Boyd seized the front around the far turn and was asked for more power entering the lane. The Baffert trainee found more gears and smiled for the camera with room to spare. Big Dom (McKinzie) was the runner-up.

The winner is his unraced dam's last registered foal on record. A half-sister to GSP Silver Highlight (Silver Charm), GSW Street Sounds (Street Cry {Ire}) and Canadian MGSW Tower of Texas (Street Sense), A Taste of Red, who was sent to Saudi Arabia in 2023, was not reported as bred for 2026. Boyd's extended female family includes GISW Love Theway Youare (Arch).
